Pastor Tunde Bakare reportedly rejects cow from the Presidency

According to reports, Latter Rain Assembly founder, Pastor Tunde Bakare got a cow and hampers from the presidency as a Christmas gift. Pastor Bakare said the cow and hampers were dropped at his Save Nigerian Group (SNG) office in Lagos, but he rejected the gift because 'a cow is not what president Jonathan should be giving to people now but a country that works'.

Some of you may have seen the video. I refused to watch it until now and to say that I am horrified by what I saw is an understatement. The horrific incident appears to have happened in Lagos because one of the women referenced 'Iyana Ejigbo' while being tortured.

In the video, several men beat, strip, and torture two women for allegedly stealing pepper. Yes, grounded pepper. The horrible men inserted pepper and stick into their vaginas. One of the women is even a mother with children at home.

This is one of the most horrific acts I have ever seen perpetrated on women. The men who did this must be brought to book. We can't keep taking laws into our own hands, we are not animals. Dear Nigerian Police, please do your job. Find the video download link - HERE

Brazil 2014: FIFA World Cup Finals Draw

The 2014 FIFA World Cup draw took place in Brazil today and Nigeria will play against Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-something...lol. Nigeria's opening game will be against Iran and even though Bosnia looks like it will be an easy game for us, the country is ranked higher than Nigeria in the world. They are ranked 21st, while Nigeria is ranked 36th, but I'm sure we'll qualify alongside Messi's Argentina.

Not Over Yet !! ASUU Gives FG Final Condition Before They End The Strike

It is not yet over, as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given the Government conditions to be met before the union would finally call off its over four-month old strike.

    “I must tell you that our mandate remains. The only mandate we have is that 2009 agreement must be met. We have not reached any agreement with the Federal Government.

    “Since the Federal Government wants to be releasing N220bn every year for five years, then all monetary and regulatory agencies must sign.... The reason we will ensure this is that we don’t want argument tomorrow that the agreement was entered in error or that they don’t know the implication of signing the agreement. ALAS!!! Outcome of FG & ASUU meeting: FG to give varsities N1.1tn in 5yrs

Very late Monday night November 4th, President Jonathan met with officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the on-going strike. After the meeting, ASUU officials said they would relay the outcome of the meeting later this week after consulting with other members of their board. The Union has not made an official statement yet but Punch is reporting that a key component of the agreement reached by the parties after the meeting was that the Federal Government would  inject N1.1trillion into public universities in the next five years.

They said the federal government would release N220billion yearly into the sector beginning from 2014. For the outgoing year, the government will only release N100bn and this has been processed.

 

They also said the strike would be called off anytime next week. Halleluyah!

ASUU Warns FG Against Forced Re-opening Of Universities

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has flayed alleged plans by the Federal Government to forcefully order the re-opening of the universities today, saying this will only complicate the situation.
Speaking on the issue, chairperson of the University of Port Harcourt chapter of ASUU, Professor Anthonia Okerengwo, urged the Federal Government to toe the path of honour in its effort towards resolving the lingering strike.
Professor Okerengwo in a statement said: “Arm twisting has never worked as a dispute resolution strategy. It is unacceptable to the union that while the President has invited the union leadership for a dialogue, some overzealous assistants to the president are clandestinely working to jeopardise the process. Latest On ASUU Strike: Day 121 “United We Bargain, Divided We Beg – Fagge Salutes Colleagues

 

As the lingering ASUU strike enters day 121, the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr. Nasir Fagge, has praised members of the union for their conduct since the strike began on July 1.

Fagge commended ASUU principal leaders for their attempts to ensure that ‘there is no going back’ until their demands are met.

He made this known in his statement posted on the website of the association. He also called the FG’s stance regarding the union’s demands “no more than a repeat performance of a one-act-play: all the deceptions, propaganda, lies, mischief and such other Shenanigans.’’

Another Plane Crash Averted In Abuja - Medview Airline

Barely a month after the Associated Airlines plane crash, another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja.

Puch reports that the airline Flight VL2104 which had about 150 passengers on board took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm.

The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts only for him to suddenly take off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground. Read more after the cut...

Chris Brown granted bail, assault charge reduced from felony to Misdemeanour

Chris Brown catches another break! According to TMZ, he was released a few hours ago without bail and the assault charge has been reduced from a felony, which could have landed him in prison, to a misdemeanor. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the man he allegedly punched in D.C yesterday.

Chris, who has been in custody since the incident, had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge vacated that order. His bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

Kim K's third wedding will be as extravagant as her second wedding if her fiance Kanye has his way. Kanye, in a radio interview yesterday with Power 106's morning radio show, hinted at an extravagant wedding to take place next summer.
