He silenced anyone who dare talked about the return of civilian rule. Have you people forgotten Tai Solarin? What did he do and what happened to him? So the man who enforced military rule continuation and oppressed anyone who dare spoke of democracy return should now be made president under civilian rule? The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), says the Federal Government is planning to introduce a law that will ban and block all porn websites in the country. He stated this at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on use of social media organised for Islamic preachers, Imams and youths in Kaduna on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the workshop, which was organised by the national body of Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatis Sunna, aimed at correcting anomalies in the use of social media.

Dasuki, who was represented by the Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Turaki, said,

“Government is planning to ban and block websites that inculcate negative attitudes in our children but we need a law to support such move. Because without a law, people can go to court and claim infringement on their rights.”

Pedestrians looked on in horror as three masked raiders smashed their way into Carr Watches and Diamonds near Liverpool Street station in central London during a daytime robbery yesterday Jan. 22nd. As the gang tried to make their getaway on two mopeds, the have-a-go hero jumped onto the back of one of the robbers and tried to drag him to the ground. The raider then threatened the man with a long knife before running off into the busy streets. Two of the suspects got away from the jewellers while another was arrested nearby. Recently Nigerian-born actor Dayo Okeniyi was excited to announce that he had become an American citizen and a few days before him footballer Mikel Obi announced his British citizenship – with this infographic it doesn’t seem strange that Nigerians work hard to get dual citizenship from other countries.

Westlife is my 2nd all time favorite boy-band after Boys 2 Men, and Mark Feehily was my favorite singer in the group. He came out later after the group disbanded to say he was gay. Broke my heart. Anyway, to the story, Mark is now selling snacks &coffee from a catering van. That's him in the van.

The 34 year old has set up his own catering business. He travels round festivals with his van and he serves customers food and drinks himself from the back of his truck. When asked about it, Mark said

"It's going really well, we've got loads of interest and we've booked it in with a lot of the music festivals and we're talking about doing some Irish ones as well. People were flabbergasted at the fact that I was in the van making crepes. People kind of have this thing 'Oh, he was in Westlife a few years ago and now he's making tea. It's my business and I love it, anything I get involved in I get involved 110%."

Mark says he hasn't given up on music yet though and is planning to launch a solo career. Westlife disbanded in 2011 after 14 years together. During their career, they notched 26 top 10 hits.

Jega Insist That Elections Will Hold As Earlier Scheduled

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Friday, rejected the call for the postponement of the presidential election and declared that Nigerians will vote their next leader on February 14.

INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, made the declaration in Abuja, at a workshop organised by the commission on “Mitigation of Violence In Election”.

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), had, on Thursday in London, canvassed for the postponement of the polls and disclosed that he had made his view on the matter known to the Chairman of INEC. A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George had supported the call by Dasuki, saying he had not even collected his PVC.

PDP Bauchi attack: 6 of GEJ's security aides hospitalized

Six operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) attached to President Jonathan's security detail in Bauchi have reportedly been hospitalized following the attack on the President's convoy by some youths at the PDP campaign rally in Bauchi state yesterday January 22nd. 

According to Channels TV, the youths attacked the convoy of President Jonathan as it left the venue of the campaign, throwing stones, sachet water and slippers. The attack became worse as the last car which was carrying the 6 DSS officials was attacked with big stones, causing major damage. The 6 officials were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two of them who sustained more serious injuries will be flown to Abuja today for further treatment

Meet Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The New King Of Saudi Arabia

Following the death of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia yesterday, Friday, January 23, 2015, the royal family structure has ensured a smooth transition of power. In a televised statement in Saudi Arabia, Abdullah’s brother and former Crown Prince, Salman, having announced the former king’s death, has also assumed the throne. 79-year old Salman was named crown prince in June 2012 following the death of Prince Naif, which makes him the heir to the throne all through the reign of the former king. And following the death of King Abdullah, he is the new ruler of the influential Asian nation.

Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was born December 31, 1935  and had been the Minister of Defence since 2011 before ascending the throne in the last few hours. Before he was named Minister of Defence, he was the Governor of Riyadh Province from 1963 to 2011.

Jonathan Plotting To Postpone Elections 'Cos Buhari Fills Him With Terror – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the call by the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, for the postponement of next month’s general elections, which he said would give the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), more time to distribute all Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs). According to the party, nothing must affect the date of the elections.

In a statement in Abuja, Thursday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the APC said that the call by Col. Dasuki, during an event at the Chatham House in London on Thursday, showed it had been the Jonathan Administration’s plot all along, to push for the postponement of the polls.

My Achievements In Six Years – President Jonathan

Ahead of the presidential election which holds on February 14, President Goodluck Jonathan has disclosed some of his achievements since he assumed office as the president of the country. He promised to do more.

“My dear friends on Facebook, in the following days and weeks, I would be reporting back to you on what I have done with the mandate you gave me four years ago. In many ways, I see you as a special constituency of mine because of the love and support you have shown me on this page since I came on Facebook on the 28th of June 2010,” he posted on his Facebook page.

Famous King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Of Saudi Arabia Is Dead!

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has passed away, aged 90. The monarch died late last night January 22nd (Nigerian time) in his home. His death was announced in a statement broadcast on Saudi state TV.

    "His Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who passed away at exactly 1am this morning (Friday - Saudi time)," the statement said.

Abdullah became king in 2005 after the death of his half-brother King Fahd. The late king's brother, Salman, 79, has been announced as the new ruler of the kingdom.

A marvelous baby girl whose heart stopped for five times in hospital is ready to come back home with her mother – alive and healthy.

Isla Allen was born 24 weeks premature and spent six months fighting for her life as she battled with multiple medical problems. The poor baby suffered from serious heart problems, bleeding on the brain and many more. During her stay in the hospital little Isla underwent at least three life-saving operations and an uncountable set of blood transfusions.

On five separate occasions Isla’s tiny heart stopped, forcing doctor’s into emergency action. In one instance it stopped for 30 minutes and the youngster was without oxygen for 10 minutes.
