A must Read: Nigeria Where is the Change? - Michael C. Ikehi

Some people are shouting APC, complaining that PDP has ruled for 16 years! Almost all the corrupt PDP members are now in APC. If you say PDP has failed then APC will definitely fail because the former PDP members are now APC members. Atik*, Amech*, speaker, decamped PDP senators and reps and other spent politicians. Where is the change coming from? Who is more corrupt than Ti**bu? Which Nigerian head of state or president is not corrupt? Past leaders used fear to intimate and covered their ill-acts while others suppressed the press and other out spoken sources, and their leadership were tagged "corruption-free".

But GEJ allowed and encourage freedom of speech, press and opposition. Some are shouting that Buhari will fight corruption, go back to history and read the trend of the so called corrupt politicians he arrested, they were mainly those he deemed as partial opposition to military rule. He silenced anyone who dare talked about the return of civilian rule. Have you people forgotten Tai Solarin? What did he do and what happened to him? So the man who enforced military rule continuation and oppressed anyone who dare spoke of democracy return should now be made president under civilian rule? If it were in developed nations, Buhari will never be allowed to contest any democratic position, not even landlord associations, talkless the highest position in Nigeria. Continue after the cut...

Insurgency
If insurgency stops, if Buhari becomes president, it will definitely not be because he will fight or fought Boko Haram. It will be a clear case of the north wanting a Muslim on seat. All Islamic associations, foreign and local will come in, telling BH, that "their own" is on seat, that north/Islam has finally gotten power back. Imagine the Arewa forum while declaring their support for Buhari said that "they are meant to and mandated to support only northern candidacy". So even if the northern aspirant is the BH itself, they must support him/ her? Rubish! And Abia is giving Buhari a chieftaincy title.

Buhari has made many public indicting and inciting statements not befitting of a national leader: making GEJ leadership ungovernable; bloody baboons in 2015; grant BH amnesty (after unprovoked killings?); an attack on BH is a fight against the north; Muslims/north vote for Muslims. These are just few and they are highly anti-national. Buhari is definitely highly over praised! This was what happened to GEJ when he was coming in. Now the few he (GEJ) did did not match expectations so he is seen as a failure. To be candid, GEJ is the most democratic president Nigeria has ever had. Go to other countries and insult the president the way GEJ has been treated.

A tiger will never change its strips. Buhari will definitely fail expectations, as it is being perceived that GEJ failed us. Remember how young and youthful Obama and Jonathan were before they became presidents? Now due to the huddles of bearing the problems of a nation, see how old and shrink they have become. Talkless of a 72years old man in this jet age! Where is the chance for the youths? Is he the only person in the north or APC that can fulfil all the empty promises of every Nigerian political aspirant? I was in pre-primary when Buhari was head of state and my teacher told me that children are the leaders of tomorrow! Now I'm very grown and the same man has been struggling for power, the fourth time now. So did my teacher lie to me or tomorrow has not come for the youths? Buhari is too old and can not, can not, can not, is not fit to handle the position. We will spend our democracy handling a sick president. The idea of "Baba" and Ti**bu is, if Buhari wins, he won't finish the 4 or 8 years. He will either d*e on seat or resign for health challenges, and he will be praised for being the first Nigerian civilian leader to willingly bequit power. A pure orchestration! Then power will return to the west. Why do you think VP was certainly drawn from the west even when APC had many credible candidates? And VP would have definitely been a Muslim had it not been the muslim/muslim ticket alarm raised.

Vote wisely! GEJ had many affiliation to please for him to have had the publicity and endorsement in 2011 election. So he had to please them all. But this 2015! When he wins, all hell will let loose. This time he will not please anyone because he is not coming back. So he will rule like the commander-in-chief that he is. Should Buhari win, he will not jump into solving all problems, not even corruption. People are ensuring that he gets there. So he MUST look away at somethings we term corruption from his close affiliation, individual or institutions. Which will take us back to the stage we are already crossing!

What economic reform can be more than what GEJ is adopting; encouraging local production and discouraging importation. Imagine some people criticising the increased importation charges to discourage some importation and increase local production. China became an economic world power because of the closed economy they practised, which GEJ is encouraging. Infact China's case was zero importation or pay heavily for any import. Now look where they are, masters of exports! Look around, Nigeria is changing and Jonathan's government has sensitised everyone to participate in politics. Governments before him killed and silenced every grassroot interest in politics including female politicking and appointments. But now, gender is being balanced, human rights obeyed and we can write, campaign and advertise politics as we wish. THIS IS DEMOCRACY! So embrace and retain it.

GEJ has brought true democracy, embrace and retain it. Goto bayelsa, only moderate and deserving developments yet they have the president and oil was first discovered in the state and the major oil wells that sustain the nation are their. If Jonathan is a northern president, bayelsa would have become a paradise with many national projects sent there. After all bayelsa is one of the smallest states in Nigeria with just 8 LGAs. So transforming it with most federal developments would not have being difficult for a commander-in-chief which previous and most northern presidents did or would have done. But no! Jonathan did not. The man you think is clueless didn't concentrate federal developments in bayelsa or niger delta or in the south only. But he spred them across the country because he is the only president with national interest. He is not as selfish as previous northern presidents to become president of bayelsa or niger delta or the president of the south but the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Even the previous northern presidents didn't think of educating their own nomads and almajiris. But Jonathan thought of them.

Which president in the history of Nigeria, Africa and across the world has called for and initiated a PEACE agreement with oppositions against pre and post election violence? Name them! Yet Jonathan, the incumbent president with the power to crush any opposition before, during and after election, did it. And it's all for the love of our dear country. If it were the APC or Buhari, with his impunity attitude, you think it will happen? Just think well.

In all Buhari's over louded past what legacy of his has transcended? Name one! The uninformed are talking about Buhari free of corruption. The 25billion naira oil money missing that Fela sang about whose PTF leadership was it? Where is the money till today? For OBJ to have set up investigation panel for the corruption charges, it means corruption did happen. Imagine how OBJ cleared Buhari of the corruption charges after many years, with no regard for the country. Is that the type of government we should encourage? Were corruption charges are cleared in private houses after dunkey years! Is that how Buhari will fight corruption? With this, Buhari has started failing in corruption fight already! Or wait, he will clear APC corrupt personels like that. Nonsense!

Buhari's publicity is with the uninformed who he can brainwash just as BH can actually brainwash the shallow minded to attach an IED and go out to become suicidal and die violently for the vague promise of virgins! What a sad story! For the female bombers I wonder what was promised to them, many virgins too!? Because their spiritual female being will be certainly dead after an encounter with about 70 male vrgins.

Our previous leaders failed us. They built mansions on muddy foundation. So no matter what recent past presidents or Jonathan add to the top structure, it comes crumbling down. GEJ is the only government that has decided to address Nigeria's problem from the foundation: building anew concrete foundation. GEJ's administration is addressing our problems from the faulty foundation. Now, the edifice built on the muddy foundation is failing apart because GEJ is working
from the foundation and not add more structures that will fall off in a short while. So the shaky glorified fake edifice of our failed fathers are breaking down! Now that the structures we use to know are falling off, we think GEJ is destroying Nigeria. On the sincere opposite, GEJ is rebuilding Nigeria from the grassroot and he's doing it with a concrete foundation. In a short while, everything will take shape. You have to scatter to rearrange well. The APC know these facts, so they loud the aspects that require serious delicate approach for a lasting effect, such as corruption, employment, light and even insurgency

Subsidy removal
Subsidy is helping you pay for what is so expensive! How can our past leaders allow fuel and others to be so expensive in a country were crude oil is available and the same past leaders made federal government pay half of the expensive price for the buyer. Why should it be so expensive in the first place? When refineries could been repaired and new ones built, past leaders decided to export crude oil and import fuel which made it so expensive that they had to introduce subsidy. OBJ would have helped solve the problem as the first civilian ruler after the last military rule. But he didn't! Instead he brought deregulation, a fatal error. Removing subsidy is now a heavy problem. No one cares or talks about our refineries anymore. The federal government is spending trillions of naira to subsidise what should have been near free, if not free! Jonathan's advocation for the removal of subsidy is to make the nation focus on awakening our refineries. Subsidy should be totally removed and our government forced to wake up our refineries. Our country owe it to us to make petroleum products very cheap and available for the masses, without subsidy! Yes removal of subsidy will make petroleum products very expensive. At first and seemed like GEJ don't like the very poor masses. But it will later become very cheap, might even be cheaper than water and corruption in the importation and oil sector reduced or totally wiped.

They are shouting GEJ is corrupt! You didn't tell me that APC has produced a political detergent for sanitising previously corrupt politicians! Which clean! If they have truly turned clean because they moved to APC let them return every proceeds of corruption they made while in PDP. He who live in glass house should not throw stone. If you point an accusing finger at some one, four points back at you! Buhari fight corruption indeed! I laugh! A neat cup should be neat from in to out. That means Buhari must deal with all previous corrupt PDP members who are now in APC. But wait, they are the ones promoting and supporting him. I laugh short sighted Nigerians parading Buhari as a solution. Really fade off misguided shouts of average uninformed crowed and weigh GEJ against Buhari. You will see I'm right.

We are tired of recycling same people as leaders! They put us into the mess we are in today! What new idea do you think they have. Nigeria and Nigerians must change their approach. Its no longer business as usual. Old politicians must go! We need change! We need fresh and young bloods! Plus when Buhari comes in, that's if he wins, he will have to start learning the rudiments of modern governance which might take time and he might end up not understanding it one bit with his poor academic experience and will lead my beloved and being repaired Nigeria into doom and dark age. Every odd except the less informed stand against Buhari and he and the APC know these so like the empty can they make the loudest noise of the few points they can pick.

Always the myopic one-sided average Nigerian! Those to comment will pick only religion, north or age to reply this write up. I'm not jobless but performing my civic right of enlightening my country men, and you owe it to our motherland to do thesame. Nigerians, we always forget so easily and always fail to learn from history.

I'm for the betterment of this country and GEJ is the best. Did corruption start in Nigeria 6years ago? Why was Shagari's civilian rule truncated? Because of corruption! You think it will leave overnight? It will take a judicial process. A bill from GEJ to jail and imprison corrupt leaders, you think our senators and reps will quickly jump into signing it? Will that be GEJ's fault again. Someone should tell Buhari that this is not military rule. How does he intend to fight curroption, capture suspected corrupt persons, arrest and jail them? Without following due process and obeying the law and constitution? This is democracy and it's draw back is, you can't just wake up and do what you like with no regard for the law! My retired General sir, we are no longer using decree but constitution.

If GEJ declare full war on BH and wipe out the north east, you will be among those to call it genocide. For light, the foundations are being addressed and will take effect. Our agriculture is back and performing well now. The economy is now being diversified and no longer based solely on oil as it was since 70s, a gross error of our fore-fathers.

Encouraging local production will attract local investments and companies which will address unemployment. Forget the facial politics of APC. How will APC address unemployment? Employ more people without creating solid econmic structure? To open employment portals without creating production environment? That will be spending more than production; input cost higher than output profit thus negative economy. Creating enabling environment is what GEJ is doing! 70% of America's economy is sustained by SMEs, not even the big companies or natural resources. I beg you to really look deep at GEJ's government. Don't just join the misguided crowd to shout. Should Buhari win, he will only enjoy the hard works of GEJ. Because foundations to address most Nigeria's problems are being laid by this government you think is clueless yet accommodating. And strong foundation is what took most great nations to where they are now, and Nigeria must get there and beyond!

So it is your duty as an informed to educate the lost and uninformed, and make they listen before they help plunge the nation into abyss.

Go and look at the list of presidential candidates that INEC released! Majority of them are northerners. Is leadership or presidency in Nigeria made for the northern? North, if you have to rule, wait for 2019 or even beyond. No vacancy in Aso Rock.

If you fail a class in school, they will tell you to repeat! So if GEJ has failed, let him repeat. Plus if GEJ is a northerner they would have insisted he complete the 8 years due for every president! If you say Nigeria is not changing under Jonathan, you are pure partisan. GEJ is helping expose everything wrong in good governance in Nigeria. Like a dark night, Nigeria is at its darkest night under GEJ but dawn comes with the brightest light. The darkest night is fading and Nigeria will light up because Jonathan has led us to and through the darkest night.

Collect your voter's card and make sure you vote for your choice! For your vote will count now and its courtesy of GEJ's administration ensuring that.

For these and for more, I will vote Jonathan and you should too. —

(other presidential aspirants were left out because GEJ - PDP and GBM - APC are the major contenders)

God bless the President
God bless Nigerians
and
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
