NAFDAC Boss Gives Ultimatum On Mobile Authentication Scratch Panel

The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii, has given an ultimatum to all anti-malarial and antibiotic drugs makers to carry on  their products the mobile authentication scratch panel or be sanctioned.   Mr. Orhii said that drugs that do not carry the mobile authentication scratch panel from September 2013 will not be recognised by NAFDAC. The director general of the agency, explained that the mobile authentication service gives the consumer the power to know if the drug is fake or genuine at the point of purchase as he also used the event to give the latest figures on counterfeit drugs in the country, with the statistics showing that the agency is winning the war against counterfeit drugs.
