Nigeria's Vice President and running mate of President Goodluck Jonathan, Namadi Sambo and APC Presidential Candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, have both failed to present their University Degree certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission as part of documents to be tendered before the electoral commission by any aspirant

Arc. Namadi Sambo who presented his nomination forms to INEC on Dec 10th stated in his form that his BSc and MSc certificates from his Alma mater, Ahmadu Bello University ABU got burnt in a fire incident. He however tendered a "To Whom It May Concern" letter from authorities of the ABU stating  that he was a student of their school.

Missing $20b: Buhari Demands Release Of Audit Report

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) has demanded the release of the forensic audit on the missing $20 billion oil money.

Gen. Buhari, in a statement yesterday, said the report must be released “in the spirit of the war against corruption.”

The APC presidential standard-bearer accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of “digging graves in search of rumours” to confuse the voters.

Missing $20b: Mystery Over Audit Report, Nigeria’s Finance Minister Covering Up Corruption At The NNPC

Nigeria’s most powerful Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has refused to release the much-publicized probe set up to investigate the theft of $20 billion from the country’s treasury through the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In February 2014, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who is both Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, told Nigerians that the federal government had appointed independent auditors to look into the books of the NNPC and unravel the huge theft which had been exposed by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, at that time the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has advised Christian communities across Nigeria, to avoid being carried away by General Muhammadu Buhari’s recent romance with the faith.

According to him, Buhari’s desperation to get elected as president is behind his “overture to the church”, which he says, is contrary to his previous leanings and “public positions”.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, December 27, Agbonayinma accused the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of having an unholy and questionable romance with the church with the aim of securing the support of the majority in the 2015 presidential election.

“You need a Buhari to end Boko Haram” – Rotimi Amaechi to Nigerians

Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that only a leader like Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) could tackle insurgency and corruption in the country.

The governor, who is also the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, on Tuesday, December 23, implored Nigerians to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan at the upcoming elections.

Amaechi insinuated that the present administration is too weak, while adding that prayers alone could not rescue the nation from the brink of collapse and underdevelopment.

Jonathan’s N21.27bn campaign fund: Donors and PDP may face prosecution

 

According to some top lawyers, the donors of the N21.27 billion for President Jonathan’s re-election campaign, should be prosecuted alongside the Peoples Democratic Party.

Some of the lawyers, which include Senior Advocates of Nigeria, stated that the donors breached the Electoral Act by exceeding the limit stipulated by the Act.

The lawyers, Prof. Itse Sagay, Femi Falana, Emeka Ngige, Mr. Jiti Ogunye and Monday Ubani, are of the opinion that the Peoples Democratic Party dinner/fund-raiser on Saturday, December 20, was the height of impunity by the ruling party.

Somehow, we excused his inadequacies and assumed that things will improve after some time. We also assumed that he will learn on the job. On Saturday, December 20, at the re-election fundraiser for President Goodluck Jonathan, over N21 billion was raised. Businessmen, multinational organisations, and governors, make up the list of donors at the Peoples Democratic Party Fund Raising Dinner, which was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
